bf just got a chocolate lab puppy and he works a full time job so he’s gone from 7pm-7am and leaves the dog inside a crate the entire time. how can i tell him all the info i need to about how to be a GOOD, responsible and proper dog owner? (more info below)

hey guys, my bf just got a chocolate lab puppy and he works a full time job so he’s gone from 7pm-7am and leaves the dog inside a crate the entire time. i’ve tried bringing this up that maybe he should’ve waited to get a dog/puppy and that it’s really bad to leave a lab puppy in a cage like that for that long. each times it’s caused arguments between us. how can i tell him all the info i need to about how to be a GOOD, responsible and proper dog owner? everytime he thinks i’m attacking him when i’m not trying to. please any advice helps at all, tia. ((unsure of how old puppy is exactly, over 2 weeks for sure, got the puppy on the 11th of april i believe, got from “first time” breeder, also worried about dogs potential health issues ontop of psychological, another female golden retriever (approximately 3-4 yrs old) in the house as well.))
