damn abstract reasoning

hey I'm 21m I got stood down a little over 2 years ago when I applied for a mechanical trade passed mechanical comprehension but failed general ability. In the past 2 months I have restarted my practice, can comfortably do 30 press ups 9.11 on msft ect . on the aptitude test side I am good on numerical, deduction and verbal reasoning. But I feel like an absolute retard when I do the abstract reasoning tests I can't process the patterns either fast or accurately. Any help or people gone through a similar situation?
