Hello. Corfu or Skiathos ?

Im planing on visiting either Corfu or Skiathos at the end of July/august. Im gay and I wanted to know if it’s safe to go around. Also, are there buses to the city and from the city to the beach’s? I don’t drive and from what I could google, buses are not really a thing, so any feedback ?

And tips for the island, where to stay, what to do,
