Total output boost maths

Just wondering does anybody know the maths on total output boost and when it is better? For example right now I have one piece of gear with 600 more boss damage and 700 more precision damage at the expense of loosing 400% output boost. Is that worth it? I have no clue how that stat affects other stats and how to try to level it
