This was a video from last night right after they got in a big scuffle that possibly led to two minor bite wounds on the rat hiding in the box. They normally don't get this bad with puffing up and one cowering but the one in the box stayed there for probably 10 mins before I picked up the box and turned it around so he could go in the cage and then he just hid for the rest of free roam. He's still acting super shy and jumpy today but a couple times did walk up to his brother and kinda stare him down for a second while the other one is basically back to normal. He's always been the one terrified of everything but usually it was me causing the scary stuff and not him panicking like this from his brother so I'm a bit concerned that his brother might need to lose ball privileges.

Usually anytime they walk by each other they freeze and one will lift a foot or two but after a few seconds they just carry on with what they were doing. They're 7-8 months old though so I'm stressed about hormonal aggression popping up as the one in this video being the instigator does have a biting problem towards me but that could be because they're ex lab rats and pretty traumatized still. I don't want to neuter any of them if they don't need it but I also feel bad that one of them is so scared all the time and gets bullied out of treats at night sometimes because he doesn't really fight back against the more dominant one.

Normal dominance behavior or neuter time?
