Cat / Kitten in studio apartment

Litterbox

Hi,

Skip to bottom for question:

I am used to having cats growing up and my older boy had passed maybe 4 years ago now. I said I would get another and not until I moved out.

Well I’ve been in my new place for 2 months now and am loving it. My father just found a small kitten on the side of our house earlier in the week. This kitten can not be older than 3-4 weeks at the most. I spoke with a vet and they said wait until 8 weeks for vaccines.

Anyway, I think I’ve made the choice to take him in as my own. My father has been holding onto him but I will grab him this weekend.

Question- How do you manage the smell of cat litter. My apartment is small but not the smallest of studios. My bathroom is obnoxiously large for a studio and it has a large window in the shower. I live on the 4th floor. I found on Amazon a cat litter box that hangs outside of the window almost like an air conditioning unit. It would be a two/three months before this baby kitten could climb over the shower tub to the window but I am seriously debating for the future. Has anyone used one of these before? I’ll try and put pictures of it in comments.
