How to lock in for preclinical…

my parents love to point out how I scored in 30th percentile of matriculated students (MCAT score) and how I’m consistently scoring around the 30th percentile on my preclinical exams. quite honestly I’m an average person who managed to get into med school.

i am not an Anki warrior, unfortunately. with one more block of my m1 year, I’d like to make a real turnaround. one thing I’ve done differently is go to school to study b/c I’ve learned i can no longer study at home (and i get to save on electricity costs lol). i am using Anki more but not consistently enough. my school does NBME exams so I feel like it should be easier for me to get higher scores, but alas…

ISO any and all tips because id really like to prove my parents wrong and pass step 1 on my first try as well as get a good step 2 score. this is turning into more of a rant, but I really regret updating my parents on med school stuff b/c every time they talk to me, they tell me i will fail step 1.
