I’ve noticed I do this without thinking.

I’ll unlock my door — car, house, apartment — and then pause for a second.

Not doing anything obvious.

Just:

• listening
• looking around
• checking behind me
• noticing who’s nearby

Nothing is happening.

But my brain doesn’t like opening something and splitting my attention without a quick check first.

So it waits that extra second.

Does anyone else do this?
