Starting again, just hoping it works this time. Does modality matter?

Im an almost 33F with PCOS and have had facial hair since I was 12. Legit, no joke. Baby mustache at 12.

I did ~16 hours of electrolysis back in 2020. Several 1 & 2 hour sessions, 1-2x/week. $1800. NEVER had a full clearing. Tech used either fully galvanic or blend (I just remember holding metal rod), Apilus machine. Insulated needle. Instead of focusing on a single block, she moved around- the idea was to make it less dense over time until everything was permanently gone.

It did nothing. Seriously. I stopped due to getting abdominal surgery, and not being able to lay down flat for 2+ months and then… life happened. It didn’t help that she was 90 min away, and the closest I had found. Then I started tweezing (I had been a shaver until that point, except for summer 2018 when I waxed cause I was traveling abroad).

There are some hairs that are *easier* to pull out, but as with tweezing and hormone disregulation…. More hairs came.

I recently found out that electrolysis services recently got started up ~20 min from me. Much easier and more convenient. It is more expensive ($150/hr now vs $110/hr before) than I was paying before, but I figure that is par for the course with the economy. It was almost 6 years ago.

Did a consult Wednesday that turned into a 1 hr session. I feel good about it. But she did shortwave. I had forgotten about the rod until now, and am wondering… Is there a difference in how the modalities work?
