Daily Bible Readings for May 1, 2026 Acts 13:26–33 • Psalm 2:6–11 • John 14:1–6

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today’s readings draw us into the heart of the Easter message: God’s promises are fulfilled in Jesus, and in Him we find the only path to peace, truth, and eternal life. These passages invite us to rest our troubled hearts in Christ and to trust the God who keeps His word across generations.

He recounts how: • Jesus was rejected by the leaders of Jerusalem, • condemned despite innocence, • crucified and laid in a tomb, • but God raised Him from the dead, • and He appeared to chosen witnesses. Paul proclaims that the resurrection is not an isolated miracle—it is the completion of God’s covenant, the fulfillment of the Scriptures read “sabbath after sabbath.” He quotes the psalm: “You are my Son; this day I have begotten you.” This is the heart of the Gospel: God keeps His promises. What He spoke through the prophets, He has brought to completion in Christ.

🎶 2. “You Are My Son; This Day I Have Begotten You” (Psalm 2) Psalm 2 echoes the divine declaration of Jesus’ identity: • God sets His King on Zion. • The nations belong to Him. • Earthly rulers are called to humility and reverence. This psalm reminds us that Christ’s kingship is not symbolic—it is real, eternal, and rooted in the Father’s decree. We are invited to serve the Lord “with fear” and rejoice “with trembling”—not out of dread, but out of awe before the majesty of God.

🕊️ 3. “Do Not Let Your Hearts Be Troubled” (John 14:1–6) In the Gospel, Jesus speaks words that have comforted believers for centuries: • “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” • “In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.” • “I go to prepare a place for you.” Thomas voices the confusion many of us feel: “We do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus responds with one of the most defining statements of His mission: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He is not merely a guide—He is the path. He is not merely a teacher—He is the truth. He is not merely a giver of life—He is life itself.

✨ Reflection for Today These readings invite us to reflect deeply: • Do I trust that God keeps His promises, even when I cannot see the full picture? • Where is my heart troubled—and how is Jesus inviting me to rest in Him? • Do I follow Christ as the way, or merely one option among many? • How can I proclaim, like Paul, the hope of the resurrection in my daily life? The resurrection is not just an event—it is a promise fulfilled. And Jesus’ words today remind us that our future is secure in Him.

🙏 A Prayer for Today Lord Jesus, Way, Truth, and Life, calm our troubled hearts and lead us into the peace of the Father’s house. Strengthen our faith in Your promises and help us walk each day in the light of Your resurrection. Amen.
