I can't let candles go out on their own!

I am a teenager and i'm not allowed to have candles, as such my candle magic has to be short and I've mostly used little tea candles, but they still do not extinguish on their own. Any advice on how to make sure my candle magic is still effective even if I can't let them run through themselves?
