I built 15 Python automation scripts while learning — sharing what they do

Hey r/learnpython,

I'm a Python beginner (BCA student) and over the past few months I've been building small scripts to automate tasks I was doing manually. Thought I'd share what I built in case it helps anyone here.

Here are my 5 favourites:

  1. File Organizer — scans a folder and sorts files into subfolders by type (Images, PDFs, Videos etc.) automatically

  2. Duplicate File Finder — uses MD5 hashing to find identical files across a folder and reports wasted disk space

  3. Excel Report Generator — takes a raw CSV/DataFrame and outputs a beautifully formatted Excel file with styled headers and auto-sized columns

  4. Bulk Image Resizer — resize all images in a folder to a fixed size or percentage, maintains aspect ratio

  5. CSV Data Cleaner — removes duplicates, fills null values, strips whitespace, standardises column names

Happy to share the code for any of these if people are interested.

I actually packaged all 15 into a small product on Gumroad if anyone wants the full set — but no pressure, just thought the community might find these useful.

What automation scripts have you built that saved you the most time?
