Brushed vs Brushless

I think I know the answer but I am just so cheap that I need to ask.

Bought the Brushed Dewalt DCK240C2 kit about 6 years back, small drilling and driving have been fine...noticed lately on larger projects the drill has kind of given up a bit. Would need to stop, let the tool cool down and recharge batteries often.

Have a friend that works at Lowes who can get me a Brushless Drill / Driver combo (as a gift) for those lowes mgmt out there. For like $80.

I get $80 isn't a LOT of money and I probably should...but I am just a DIY homeowner and I do project automotive on the side.

Think I would see a HUGE difference between a brushed Dewalt kit vs a brushless Kobalt?
