Known problems in crv 2026
had a few “known issues” that I was originally told were normal, but I decided to bring everything up while getting a puncture repaired. Glad I did.
Mechanical fixes:
Steering wheel noise: They replaced the cable reel, and the difference is huge. Steering feels way smoother now.
Oil change (unexpected fix): This actually solved an acceleration issue I’d been noticing. Before, there was a slight hesitation when pressing the gas. Now it’s completely gone—the car feels incredibly smooth, like butter.
Tech fixes:
Infotainment / Apple CarPlay freezing: They performed a full system reset (wiped everything). Since then, CarPlay connects instantly via Bluetooth and hasn’t frozen once.
Adaptive Cruise Control: This also improved after the reset. The car used to accelerate pretty aggressively when the lane cleared, but now it’s much smoother and more gradual.
Useful tip — Auto Parking Brake:
You can enable it so the parking brake automatically engages when you turn off the car:
Put the car in Park
Pull up and hold the electronic parking brake switch
Keep holding past the first beep until you hear a second beep
After that, it’ll activate automatically every time you shut the car off (repeat to disable).
Settings I turned off:
Rear Seat Reminder: Settings → Vehicle → Meter Setup
Road Departure Mitigation: Settings → Driver Assist System Setup
Overall, getting these things fixed made a big difference. Between that and the MPG, the CR-V is easily my favorite car right now and one of the best SUVs in its class.
