11 months post partum, numbness between ribs

In the third trimester I experienced a numbing sensation in between my ribs. It got so annoying I couldn't wear a bra anymore. The feeling of anything touching that area drove me crazy. I'm almost 11 months post partum now and I still have numbness in this area. My doctor said it's likely damaged nerves from all the stretching during pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced this? Did it ever heal and how long did it take?
