No Disney doesnt have to make another romance film

Having been to most active disney subreddits, one thing I've seen a lot of people clamoring for is more romance. More romance? I mean nick and Judy had a pretty romantic subplot in zootopia 2. And let's not forget the one in Encanto (which isnt really much, its just a brief scene with Dolores falling in love, but still it counts. So why are people clamoring for more?

Well ive noticed that a lot of people in see on the disney subs grew up with the Renaissance, which was nothing short of romance. The big 4 films (Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and the little mermaid.) especially. I feel like this clamoring is linked to that. Or at least I thought.

You see I on the other hand grew up on the experimental era. The era often gets ignored by some fans because of its lack of musicals and abandonment of the disney formula. I however love it. This era started out really strong until it slowly declined after Lilo and Stitch (imho.) Ive seen the early 2000s ones a bunch of times and honestly they weren't really romantic. Sure atlantis and Dinosaur had romantic subplots, but they didnt go all in with them. Instead they focused on adventure and action which i find great. I dont mind romance though. Emperors new groove and brother bear lack romance. Lilo and stitch sorta has one but Nani and David are just friends with a mutual attraction. Most of these movies turned out great id argue whether romance mattered or not. So of course that explains why im not big on romance. However there is a dark secret.

Today I saw a post on the disney movies sub saying that women can be strong in a relationship too. Something about it seemed so fishy about it until I realized that this is nothing but tradwife propaganda. The internet has gotten more conservative lately especially with all these tradwife trends and stuff like that. These fans not only want the Renaissance back, they want disney to go back to the 1950s even though they specifically mean the early 90s and its just so frustrating. For all those fans clamoring for more romance out there I must tell you something. Notice how when a female leader goes independent, everyone screams, but when its focused on a male protagonist no one bats an eye. That just shows you that this is straight up right wing rhetoric in the guise of female empowerment.

You are grown ass 30 year olds, these films arent target towards you anymore. Plus disney has been doing romance for a long time even after the Renaissance. Not every disney movie needs to be a romance
