**Company:** Moderna, Inc.
**Ticker:** MRNA

**Report Date:** **May 2, 2026, before market open (expected).** The conference call is typically **around 8:00 AM ET.**

**📊 Wall Street Expectations (Q1 2026)**

**Estimated EPS:** about **-$2.90 to -$2.60**.
**Estimated Revenue:** about **$0.7B to $0.9B**.
Estimates are wide and reflect a continued post-COVID reset, with revenue heavily dependent on seasonal vaccine demand and timing.

**📈 Key Things Traders Are Watching**

**COVID vaccine sales and seasonality**
This is still the biggest near-term driver. Demand is now much more seasonal and lower than peak pandemic levels. Q1 is typically a weaker quarter, so investors will focus more on timing and forward demand than the raw number.

**Pipeline progress (RSV, flu, combination vaccines)**
This is the core of the long-term story. Moderna is advancing multiple mRNA-based vaccines, including RSV and flu, as well as combo shots. Updates on clinical progress or regulatory timelines could matter more than the quarter itself.

**Cost structure and cash burn**
This feels like the main earnings-quality issue. With lower COVID revenue, Moderna has been running losses while continuing heavy R&D spending. Investors will watch whether expenses are being managed or if cash burn is accelerating.

**Cash position and runway**
Moderna still has a large cash balance from pandemic-era profits. The market will want to see how quickly that cash is being used and how long it can fund the pipeline without needing additional financing.

**Manufacturing utilization and scaling strategy**
With lower vaccine volumes, manufacturing efficiency matters more. Investors will watch whether Moderna is optimizing production capacity or carrying excess costs.

**Regulatory and commercialization outlook**
Guidance around approvals and launch timing for new vaccines is critical. This is where the company can shift from a COVID-only story to a diversified vaccine platform.

**Last quarter for context**
In **Q4 2025**, Moderna reported about **$2.8B in revenue**, **EPS around $0.55**, with most revenue coming from COVID vaccines and continued heavy investment into its pipeline.

**My read:**
For **MRNA**, this feels like a **pipeline + cash burn** call first and a **COVID revenue** call second. If they come in around the current setup but show pipeline progress is on track and cash burn is controlled, that probably matters more than a headline EPS miss in a seasonally weak quarter.
