A Quick Question About Engines And Top Speed

Hey folks,

Quick question about how ship engines work.

My understanding is that your ship's top speed is only as fast as your least fast engine. So if you have two kinds of engines on your ship, the slower one will determine your top speed. I... think that's pretty dumb, actually, but fine, whatever.

However, I notice that my top speed doesn't increase when I add new engines. Even if they're the same kind of engine, whether I have one on there, or six on there, the top speed seems to be the same.

Am I reading things wrong? Because if I'm reading this right, it sounds like adding extra engines doesn't actually make the ship faster at all. In fact, it sounds like all more engines does is look nice and use up more power. Is this correct? Is one fully powered engine just as fast as six of the same engines fully powered?
