Would Bill sacrifice the Celtics in Game 7 if it meant the Lakers lost to the Rockets?
Interesting thought experiment. Celtics blowing a 3-1 lead would be overshadowed by the Lakers blowing a 3-0 lead. Now Tatum is injured and may miss Game 7, so there's an excuse. He'd also claim the Celtics were in a transition year, dumped salaries to get under the apron, overachieved, etc. Plus, it's clear now that they aren't winning the title anyway and after the Knicks destroyed the Hawks, the Knicks would be clear favorites in Round 2. So, it's unlikely the Celtics even make the ECF, let alone the Finals, and definitely wouldn't win it. Meanwhile, he'd get to shit on both the Lakers and LeBron for eternity for blowing the first 3-0 lead in NBA history.
Would he be willing to give up his favorite team if it means a chance to throw generational slander at the Lakers and LeBron. I think 100% yes, he would.
