Simple Homemade Kheer (Easy for Beginners)

R1 - 🍚 Simple Homemade Kheer (Easy for Beginners)

I made this basic kheer recipe at home, and it’s really simple if you’re just starting cooking. No complicated steps, just slow cooking and patience 🙂

🥣 Ingredients:

1 litre milk 3–4 tbsp rice 3–4 tbsp sugar (adjust as needed) 3–4 cardamom pods (lightly crushed) A small handful of raisins Almonds (optional) A few saffron strands (optional)

👨‍🍳 Method:

Wash the rice and soak it for about 20–30 minutes. Heat milk in a heavy pan and let it come to a gentle boil. Add soaked rice and cook on low flame, stirring sometimes so it doesn’t stick. Keep cooking until rice becomes soft and milk starts getting thicker. Add sugar and mix well. Add cardamom, raisins, and saffron. Cook for another 5–10 minutes until you get a creamy texture. Turn off the heat and let it cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or chilled.

⚠️ Allergy Note:

If you are allergic to nuts, avoid almonds and any dry fruits. The kheer still tastes good without them.
