Alternator for ´99 2.7L
I have a ´99 2.7L, i live in Baja MX. A few weeks ago had trouble starting. I been out of town for weeks sometimes months and nobody home to start it and recharge the battery.
I used a temu charger and worked fine a few days. Last sunday died on me on the road while returning from a fishing trip. Started it with a jumper but died again, ´till somebody with an extra battery rescued me.
Made it home and set the charger on repair for 12 hours, and worked again for a few days. Yesterday i checked it with a tester and starts but delivers 11.5-12 Volts and i can actually see it losing power.
So my best guess its the alternator. I´ve checked on Autozone and a remanufactured unit its almost 60 bucks cheaper than a new one and the same warranty (1 yr).
I would like to upgrade to a HO alternator and a bigger battery, i´ve been reading on forums that some GM units are an easy swap, but havent found the correct data.
I´ll really appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction.
