Cat keeps pooping on floor?

Hi there,

Our cat Willow has been consistently pooping (poop only) on the exact same spot on the floor for months now. We’ve gone to the vet and they suspect she may have early mega colon symptoms so we started her on special food about 8 weeks ago to help. It did help some!! Her poop used to be hard and now much better. But poor kitty is still popping in the same spot, only going once in the box within 6 weeks, she goes every other day like clock work.

Name it and we’ve tried it. 4 types of new litter, multiple litter boxes, cleaning all the time, using enzymatic cleaners to clean up, professionally deep cleaning the carpet with special animal cleaner, offering wet food (before the prescription), offering more water in various ways, putting the box where she goes in the floor (she literally will try to move it and poop right outside it!) literally anything people normally suggest, we’ve tried. We’re at a total loss.

Recently the vet started her on anxiety medication just to see if that would help, but no signs of improvement yet. There’s a part of me that wonders if she forgot to use the box, but she pees in it just fine.

I’m just curious if anyone has ANY suggestions as to what could help? She’s an only cat, very doted on and we just wanna help her.
