Visiting Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (North Observatory) on May 5th evening — will it be too crowded?
Hi everyone,
I'm planning a trip to Tokyo from May 5–8 and considering visiting the Soutuh Observatory of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building on the evening of May 5th (around 6–7 PM).
I know May 5th is Children's Day and falls within Golden Week, so I'm a bit worried it might be extremely packed. Has anyone been to the observatory during Golden Week, especially in the evening? Is it manageable, or would it be better to skip it and visit on a different day?
I also have a question about accessibility. I'm guessing there are elevators since it's a government building, but wanted to confirm — especially whether the queuing area or entrance involves any stairs.
If you have any tips for visiting in general (best time, how long to queue, etc.), I'd really appreciate it!
