If I only have a handful of programs supported by Windows, would it be better to just run a VM for those few applications?

Things like ZBrush or DaVinci Resolve. Honestly they are the only 2 things stopping me from migrating, as I continue to research switching to something like Fedora and getting KDE Plasma.
