Surgery?

I have a very needed spinal cord surgery in a few weeks. I have had several episodes of Akathisia from medications, including one that lasted about 2 years that I just recovered from.

What are the risk factors from the surgery that I should be looking to minimize? I will be telling my care team at the pre-op appointment as well.
