If confucianism is so Backwards then why most people from Confucian Countries like China, Taiwan Japan and South Koreaare much more intelligent compared to that to western ones?

I know this seems odd to you my fellow Americans that confucianism is one of the philosophy that builds east asian countries however asking if you think that's backwards then why people from east Asia they are dominating in your own schools
