SoCal providers? That take insurance, maybe?
I've been on HRT for a few years now, and it's very helpful, I am just looking for provider suggestions.
I first worked with a great Dr in the Seattle area, who really jump started me. When I first moved to SoCal, I saw him when I went back to visit. But, his clinic management stopped allowing him to treat patients who didn't live locally. He referred me to a Dr that he has a good relationship with in Palm Springs, CA, Dr Wilgarde.
I am in my 2nd year with him. It's ok, but I get the feeling that he's getting close to retiring, and doing the bare minimum of care...and we pay for concierge care.
The last couple of appointments have been very brief, always over the phone, which is fine, but it feels rushed, and like he's mostly checking boxes. When I asked about heart palpitations in regards to menopause, he dismissed it completely, no conversation. (I know it's not always menopause related, but a basic conversation was all I wanted...and he knows I have already done the full cardiac and pulmonary workup.)
The other issue is his staff seems super annoyed and put out with any requests. I had to change compounding pharmacies due to a major price increase, and I got a lecture on making a change. When I didn't have everything memorized from my previous appt report, the office manager said that I needed to study and have it all in my memory, because they took the time to write up the clinical notes. Just kind of...off-putting.
Anyway, I am looking at other options and would be extra happy to find someone who takes insurance, or at the least, will submit labs to insurance.
Also! If anyone knows various options for progesterone. I cannot get the regular Rx because it is suspended in peanut oil. My compounded Rx is expensive...I have learned that in the UK they sometimes do the Mirena coil instead of an oral med...
