Pyramid is weak in 2v8

I recently was excited to play 2v8 again cause I've gotten much better at pyramid head since the last 2v8. I'm not phenomenal with him but I'm actually pretty solid and have a 70% kill rate with him in regular games. however when 2v8 came around and I started playing as him I noticed him to be extremely late in the quick climate of 2v8. This could be a skill issue on my part I'm not denying that, but I just noticed such a difference between the regular matches and 2v8, like he really struggles to keep up. Has anyone else noticed this?
