Electric bike

I got offered a job in NYC and I took it, going to start in July. I already signed a lease in New Rochelle and my work is in the Bronx. I do have a car but I don't really like driving (traffic).

If I do drive my commute would be around 25mins according to google, but if I do get an electric bike it would be around 7.5mi, I think it might take like 35 mins, and an excellent morning and afternoon exercise.

The itinerary would be Pelham Rd, Shore Rd, HRP Drawbridge, then Bronx and Pelham Pkwy.

Is it realistic? Are these roads bike friendly? Or am I better off sticking to my car?
