When did you restart GLP-1’ post surgery?

So my hysterectomy is scheduled for June 3rd, 2026. My surgeon told me to stop my Zepbound 7 days before my surgery. Thankfully my shot days are on Wednesdays and my surgery is on a Wednesday so my last dose will be May 27th. My endo just upped my dose to 10 mg and I start that on May 6th. I had just picked up my last 7.5mg box right before the 10 mg was approved so I have 3 of the 7.5mg pens.

My question is for those on GLP-1’s, when did you restart your meds again and did you stay at the same dose or have to go down? I know if you wait too long in between shots, they recommend going down in dosage. I’ve seen some say they start right back up as soon as they can eat or poop again. I’m assuming it’s not recommended to take it immediately following surgery (the same day).

I appreciate any feedback or advice. And yes I am asking both my endocrinologist and gynecologist what to do. I’m just terrified of having to go down on a dose for more than the few weeks I already have. My Zepbound is covered through Medicaid so I’m afraid if I have to go down, they won’t cover it anymore.

Thanks in advance!
