Shutdown is a horrid mechanic, which could be my kryptonite
May it be something akin to a skill issue? Probably. Did I not have a topic to start with? Maybe. Is Shutdown a weird mechanic that supports those with good skill? Yes and no. Anyways, good day (or good evening during my time).
Ever since 2.5 with Miss “master plan” of sorts, Shutdown has existed and it’s not a fun thing to fight against for a mechanic. It praises perfect timings and parrying/dodging for an essentially one-time ability, where failing it feels like a reset. With the 2.5 boss, it was fine, and I didn’t feel much about it with how clear it was, but then to the 2.6 boss, and the fact she does it TWICE, where the second is even worse after the initial and every other, where I either missed it, or could barely realize it and ended up getting it, as well (Could also be the whole thought of dodging it being a weird count, but that’s different). And for our 2.7 boss, it’s less bad, due to a different mechanic he has that I shall not address for the sake of topic keeping. “Anomaly boss” my ass when it’s 10k with Alice/Yuzuha/Vivian (damn you hoyo, where’s my Aria).
In the end, shutdown is a skill based mechanic that, while I have the reflexes to do, I don’t have the bright idea/time/desire to practice or creativity to talk about anything besides this mechanic.
This is a very uncreative and dumb rant.
