i’ve been in Florida for a lot of years and I’ve seen some gnarly stuff but this spider caught me totally off guard tonight. I went outside to smoke a cigarette. When I turned around to go back inside, I noticed the spider on the side wall of my front door. It was humongous. I watched it sit there for a minute, and I was too scared to open my front door to go inside. It got startled sprinted across my door up into the corner of it. It’s sat there for a minute then it sprinted up the wall towards my roof and stared at me.

At first, I thought it was a wolf spider but AI says that it’s a Huntsman and after reading the explanation I think I probably agree.

I know these spiders can be good pest control. And I do like spiders I can tolerate banana spiders and orb weavers and the cute little mini jumping spiders. Huntsman and wolf spiders give me the heebie-jeebies.

How likely is it that I’ll see this sucker in my house eventually? I’m asking here because I just asked Google the exact same question and it’s response to me was that it’s highly likely shes going to come into my house. Are you kidding me?

I’ve lived here for a handful of years and I think I’ve only seen one spider in my house possibly none. I know these spiders are super common I’ve just never seen one around my house especially this large. Or waiting for me at my front door.

I don’t know what I would do if I found this in my house. I do have some cats. Is this something that they could take care of for me? If I somehow managed to psychologically get myself into a place where I allowed it to be in my house if I did find it is it going to crawl into bed with me or will it just mind its own business and eat bugs ??? hopefully I don’t have other bugs in my house. I’m pretty clean . I’m really freaked out lol please advise.

What are the chances I’ll eventually see her in my house? Huntsman Spider in Florida.
