Tips on making my own black jelly

Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any tips on making a DIY black jelly polish (or just a DIY jelly in general). Should I order a fresh clean bottle? I've been trying to clean out a used up bottle of essie cuticle oil but I wasnt sure if that could contaminate the process.

Let me know! I'm craving dark but translucent nails because this girlie is going soft punk :)
