I have a crush on a guy and dont know what i should do

I (18F) have the BIGGEST crush on one of my friends (19M), we’re in a couple classes together at college so i see him every week. He’s so funny, i laugh so much every time we talk. He’s also really nice and gorgeous. He seems interested in talking to me a lot and asks about my weekends, etc.. he’s also been late for class before from talking to me lol. He always sticks around to talk to me even if he has somewhere to go.
I’ve only known him for probably like 2 months… i would love to go on a date with him but i do NOT want to take it too fast or to make him uncomfortable… im not even 100% sure hes single. I’ve never dated anyone before or been on any dates… so i dont know what the procedure is. I would love some help. Do you think i should wait and see if he does anything? Or ask to hang out as friends without saying its a date?
