I don't know what i'm doing wrong

Unless it's on official campaign maps I can't even get a clean run, let alone whatever medal. I see tons of posts and comments saying that it shouldn't be the goal to aim for gold etc and just find the fun elsewhere. Believe me i've tried, i've played TM2020 since launch and, I just don't like TOTD tracks. I don't know why but they do not click for me at all.

It really sucks because I do enjoy this game, but I feel like it's a waste of time and money since it's such a small part of the game I actually have fun with.
