Why did you leave and if there was a breaking point what exactly was it?

Questions

I think for me it wasn’t just one moment, it happened gradually. Over time, the foundations of everything I believed in just started to collapse. Each passing day, I found it harder to understand how I could continue believing in what my previous religion taught. It began to feel hateful, divisive, sexist, and often just absurd.

As a woman, I came to realise that it didn’t make sense for me to follow a religion that seems to view me negatively, treating me as a temptation to men and objectifying me. That realisation was deeply unsettling. On top of that, there are aspects of the scripture that I find morally troubling and difficult to justify, regardless of whether they come from the 1st century or the 21st. Ultimately, I didn’t want to continue following something that felt so fundamentally at odds with my values.
