UNH v. U of Maine v. Paul Smith's for forestry?
Hi everyone,
My son is deciding between UNH, U of Maine and Paul Smith's for his forestry degree. $$$ are about the same, so that's not really the deciding factor. All three are SAF accredited, so that's good.
Any thoughts?
A few issues we're struggling with:
- Is PSC safe financially? Are they able to retain and keep the right faculty given their finances and location?
- Is UNH still a "real" forestry program after the closure of the Thompson school? Or are they becoming more conservation/environmental science oriented (like UVM)?
- Is U of Maine "too" industry (large-scale loggers) oriented?
- Which one is the hardest, academically? Which one offers the best/worst academic support for struggling students?
Thanks to all!
