I got two plats in the month of April, a significant decrease from the eight plats I got in March. This is mainly for two reasons. The first was my university semester wrapping up in April, which means a lot of exams and assignments. The second reason is the games I was playing were kind of long. I started the month with Unicorn Overlord, which is a medium size strategy RPG. Afterwards, I played Tunic, which was significantly shorter. However, after that I started working on Persona 5 Royal, which is a very long game, and it's still not done. For these reasons, I only got two plats in April, but I'm happy with the games I got.

**1. Unicorn Overlord - 12/15 - 42 hours**

Starting off April very strong with Unicorn Overlord. It is a game I had heard about but never really seen gameplay off. I am not really the biggest fan of strategy RPGs or just strategy games in general, but this game blew me away. The story was generic but it was engaging, the music was amazing and the hand-drawn art style was very beautiful. The game has great depth to its mechanics and you can spend countless hours learning it and perfecting it. The clean up after the story was a bit repetitive, but it wasn't anything too bad. I can recommend this game for any fans of strategy games/strategy RPGs, or if you even have any passing interest in the genre. I really enjoyed it.

**2. Tunic - 8/15 - 6 hours**

As opposed to Unicorn Overlord, Tunic is a game I had my sights on for a while and I was interested in. The can be really easy, or really hard, depending on whether you use a guide or not. I had to use a guide since I was really struggling with the puzzles and couldn't get through the game. The art style is very cool here and the world is very intricate. I loved the in game manual that you collect pages for and serves as a tutorial. However, this game kind of proved to me that the metroidvania genre isn't really thing. You easily get lost in these games and while that may sound fun to some, it really isn't for me. I'm still glad I played Tunic, it is a good and well-designed game, it's just not for me.

**Final Thoughts**

April was a slower month than March in terms of total number of plats, but it was still a very good month for me and I'm happy with the two plats I got here. Unicorn Overlord also enters my top 5 and potentially my top 3 games I played in 2026, I'm still unsure on the latter though.
