Gig worker at Porter being ignored after asking for financial assistance

Debt

I’ve been working full-time as a gig worker with Porter for the past 8 months. I work almost every day and depend entirely on this income.

Right now, I’m going through a financial crisis. I have multiple high-interest EMIs to manage, and missing payments will lead to penalties and more pressure. Porter promotes a financial assistance option through their lending partner, so I applied hoping to get some support during this situation.

But every time, it shows that I’m “not eligible.”

I didn’t stop there I reached out to their support team, explained my situation clearly, and asked if there’s any way they can help or reconsider. There has been no response at all.

That’s the part that’s difficult to accept. Not just the rejection, but being completely ignored despite working consistently on the platform.

Gig workers don’t have job security, benefits, or backup. When platforms promote financial support but don’t respond when someone genuinely needs it, it feels very one-sided.

I’m trying to stay afloat, consolidate my loans, and manage everything responsibly, but right now it’s getting overwhelming.
