Nobody is talking about Telegram as a serious AI income stream and I don't understand why
Been deep in the AI content space for a while and everyone is obsessed with the same funnel. Build an AI model, push traffic to OnlyFans or Fanvue, collect subscription money. Sounds simple.
The problem is the math is terrible.
Only 4.2% of people who land on an OF page actually convert. You're losing 95 out of every 100 people at the door because you're asking them to sign up for yet another platform, add a card, go through the whole thing. The platform then takes 20% of whatever survives that gauntlet. And you don't own the audience. One policy change and it's gone.
Meanwhile Telegram is sitting right there and people treat it like a chat app.
It's not a chat app anymore. 1 billion monthly active users as of March 2025. 450 million daily actives. Business channels with 10k+ subscribers grew 39% this year. Channel admins increased their monetization strategies by 61% year over year. Over 210,000 brands are now running Telegram-only revenue programs. The platform itself hit $1 billion in revenue in 2024 and is targeting $2 billion in 2025.
The opportunity is massive and most AI creators are completely ignoring it.
The actual play is simple. You build an AI persona, you run a Telegram channel alongside it, and instead of sending people to a signup wall you bring them somewhere they already are. The conversion difference is not small. People who won't click through to Fanvue will absolutely DM a character on Telegram. The friction is almost zero.
The part that doesn't scale by hand is keeping the AI persona consistent across hundreds of simultaneous conversations. That's the problem I built Kalify to solve. Handles the persona layer on Telegram so the character stays coherent at scale without you manually running every thread.
But honestly even before thinking about tools, just the channel setup alone is an underrated income stream most people building in this space haven't touched yet.
If you're using AI to generate content and sending all your traffic to OF you're leaving a lot of money on the table.
