AITAH for staring at my mom when she's peeing and shitting in the bathroom?
i know this sounds super gross on my end, but PLEASE hear me out.
We got a puppy around 5 years ago, and ever since my mom has started going to the bathroom with the door wide open because our dog has separation anxiety. When you enter our house, you first enter a corridor. On the right is our first bathroom, and right across that bathroom is the entrance to our kitchen. Both me and my dad have been making food in the kitchen, only for my mom to enter the bathroom, leave the door wide open and literally just let it all out while we're trying to not lose our appetite. Yes, she actively shits with the door open so everyone can very clearly see(if you're in the kitchen) and hear it.
I have asked her MANY times to close the door to the bathroom when she goes in, and she always says she will but never actually does it. When i bring this up, she blames it on her ADD and says it's hard for her to remember to close the door. This just annoys me because she NEVER "forgets" to close the door if we have guests over, it's only when it's just us 4 home.
So, for the past few months, whenever she leaves the door open while I'm in the kitchen making something, i just walk over to the door and stare at her as she does her business. She has called me creepy for it and tells me it makes her uncomfortable, and I've responded every time that she wouldn't be uncomfortable if she closed the door.
I've tried so many times to be civil about it, and it's never worked. I don't feel good about crossing her boundaries, but she's been crossing mine and my dad's boundaries and has never improved on it when we've asked her to stop, and i feel like this might be the only way to make her realize just how uncomfortable it is.
i don't know, AITAH for this?
