France tour wine picks

I’m planning to go with the following wine selection and I’d really appreciate some feedback on whether it feels well-balanced overall:

- Domaine Vacheron – Sancerre Blanc

- E. Guigal – Côtes du Rhône Rouge

- Château Pontet-Canet – Pauillac

- Louis Jadot – Gevrey-Chambertin

- Veuve Clicquot – Yellow Label Brut

The idea was to cover different regions and styles across France. Loire, Rhône, Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Champagne. So it feels like a representative and balanced mix rather than focusing too much on one category.

Do you think this is a well-rounded selection in terms of style, quality, and drinking experience? If you were building a similar 5-bottle set, would you keep it as is, or swap anything out?

I’d especially be curious about:

- Whether the Bordeaux choice is the best value in that price range

- If the Burgundy (Gevrey-Chambertin) is the right pick or if there’s a stronger alternative

- Whether the Champagne choice is solid or if something like Bollinger or a grower Champagne would be more interesting

- Any suggestions for improving balance (e.g., replacing one red with another white or rosé)

Open to any recommendations. especially from people familiar with French wines or similar selections.
