[Weekly] Resume Review Megathread

Canteen Discussions

Hi fellow corporate folks,

The job market’s been rough for a lot of people lately, and resumes are often the first (and sometimes only) filter. We’ve seen many of you ask for feedback, so here’s a dedicated resume review thread for both freshers and experienced folks alike.

The goal is simple: help you present your work better and improve your chances of getting shortlisted.

What this thread is for

Use this thread if you:

  • Want feedback on your resume / CV
  • Aren’t getting callbacks and don’t know why
  • Are switching roles / industries and need direction
  • Want a second opinion before applying

This is meant to be practical, honest, and helpful to get the real feedback.

How to post (mandatory context)

Please don’t just drop a resume link. Add some context so people can actually help:

  • YOE (Years of Experience)
  • Current / target industry
  • Roles you’re applying for
  • Key skillsets

Additionally, it helps to include:

  • What problem you’re facing (e.g., no callbacks, resume too generic, etc.)
  • What kind of feedback you want (structure, content, ATS, etc.)

Attach your resume using an anonymous link (remove personal details like phone number, email, etc.).

What not to do

  • No low-effort posts (they’ll be removed)
  • No “review pls” with just a link
  • Don’t argue with people trying to help you

If you’re posting, put in some effort, others are putting in time to review.

For people reviewing

If you’re giving feedback:

  • Be direct, but constructive
  • Avoid vague comments and explain what’s wrong and how to fix it
  • If possible, suggest better phrasing, structure, or alternatives

Even a few thoughtful pointers can make a big difference.

Important notes

  • This is a community-driven thread, mods are not reviewing every resume and not getting any monetary benefits from this thread
  • Profession/industry details via flair are enough, no need to over-explain beyond context
  • Do not share sensitive or personally identifiable information
  • Advice may vary, use your judgement before applying changes

General etiquette

  • Respect people’s time and effort
  • Keep discussions relevant
  • No spamming or self-promotion
  • Ensure you have a proper USER FLAIR, else your content will be removed

Good luck and peace!✌🏻👍
