How do I ask my parents to spend the summer in a different state? (17M)

I (M17) have this friend group with 4 of my best friends (F17) (M(18) (M17) (F(17). We’ve been friends for a while now and they’ve become people I’d consider to be lifelong friends. We all FaceTime everyday, and even though im a bit further we’re always caught up on each others lives. These friends live in a different state a good bit away, and we had all talked several times about me coming spend the summer with the group. The problem is, I don’t know how to approach this subject with my parents. They aren’t used to the idea of me traveling like this. Should I try and introduce them to my friends parents? My friends parents are on board with the idea and have made sure to let me know I’m welcome to visit anytime. Transportation would be covered (that’s definitely not an issue) and I’d probably spend around 2 months there. How do I explain to my parents that I want to spend the summer with my friends out of state?
