how did you find a band?

I know there was a post about it but it's more than a year old and maybe someone new would want to share! (me) I've been a fan for a while but only recently joined the sub so im curious...

sooo my story is, I was still in school (can't believe it was 6 years ago...) during covid, as everyone, spending much time on the internet, and one of these days youtube recommended me their video with a cover of 'baby one more time'. I loved it so much, loved the visuals as well, watched their videos with superclean listening parties and for couple of months it was all I played, and then for some reason I completely forgot about them... until like 2 years later when I was scrolling pinterest searching for stuff for a creative project I had, which let's say revolved around the symbolism of the color red... and i stumble upon a screenshot from their 'all I really want is you' mv, and I was like, damn, that's a gorgeous woman, I feel like I saw her somewhere... then I see the description 'the marías', google it and find out I missed the first studio album of the band that I liked during quarantine so much! listened to it, then guess what, somehow I forgot about them again...maybe that's cause I wasn't so much on social media, idk man... and finally, late spring/ early summer of 2024, I'm ON THE BEACH, just strolling, I was upset about something, and from afar I hear 'no one noticed' playing. somebody was playing it from their car... I, again, don't realize somehow, that it's the marías, but memorize lines of the bridge, come home, google it, and laugh my ass off, no way it's them again and I missed their second album too, lol.

finally I become a die hard fan, I looove maría so much, love her vision, love her style, she inspires me so much, and the whole band is obviously amazing and compliment each other. I think it's so funny that i lost and found them so many times, ment to be I guess!

im curious to read stories of those who clocked their genius early on, or whatever, maybe someone like me who took their time haha
