To restart, or not to restart

So I'm thinking of jumping back in with the new DLC. And my previous save was about halfway into patricians. I'm still on the fence whether I should get back in on a new save and start on Cinis or continue and treat Cinis as secondary island. What did you do? What do you suggest?
