Question on US Airport Customs Declaration

How do you do folks,

I am looking to purchase a Rolex in Asia this time around and I was wondering if anyone had the latest experience on the customs declaration at US airports (for future reference, today is May 1, 2026).

All of the posts I'm seeing on reddit are from last year, when tariffs on Swiss-made watches were 39% and subsequently 15%. Then there's also the question of whether these tariffs even apply to individual consumers bringing in their watches as personal goods.

General consensus seems to be that if the CBP agents do make you pay duty, it's around 3-4%. I'd be totally fine with that range, but if I have to pay 15% by any chance I'd skip on the watch purchase in the first place.

Thanks in advance!
