How to stop the cat from jumping on counter tops?

Next month I am moving into an apartment with a cat. Long story short this cat was rescued but for about 8 months shes been living in a bedroom because she is aggressive towards the dog who had already been living in the home. Since she has only really been living in a bedroom and sometimes browsing the upstairs with supervision, she hasnt been exposed to some rooms like a kitchen. I DO NOT want her on the kitchen counter tops. What are some methods you recommend?
