Homebase Payroll Warning - Tax Misfiling

Hey all! I have been a loyal Homebase customer for scheduling and payroll since hiring my first staff a few years ago. Last December, Homebase payroll made an incorrect filing with our state DOL and then submitted a payment to them for the wrong amount. I was notified of a significant balance (with interest being charged) by the DOL in January of this year, and immediately notified Homebase.

Since then, they have been unable to resolve, nor provide me with any updates or insights. They have claimed to have ”escalated the issue to their tax team” several times and have also claimed to be awaiting a response from the DOL. I have personally contacted the DOL and they couldn’t find any record of contact from Homebase other than routine filings. I notified Homebase of this, and have still been met with the same responses.

This has gone on unresolved for months now and Homebase’s inability to even attempt to resolve the issue has been astounding.
