Running Meta ads for high-ticket rugs (£100 - £300) - getting clicks but no confirmed sales yet. Not sure if I’m on the right track
Hey guys,
I’ve recently started running Meta ads for a UK-based rug store, and I’m trying to figure out if I’m thinking about this the right way -especially with a small budget.
Right now I’m spending about £10/day and keeping things simple (one campaign, one product in the ads).
Over the first ~5 days:
- Spent ~£50
- CTR ~1.5%
- CPC ~£0.70
- 74 link clicks → 40 landing page views (~54%)
Initially I thought I got a sale (~£370), but turns out that customer had already reached out before seeing the ad, so I can’t really attribute it to Meta.
So effectively:
👉 no confirmed purchases from ads yet
What I’m trying to understand is whether this is still “normal” at this stage, or if something is off.
A few things I’m unsure about:
- With a budget like £10/day, is it even realistic to expect consistent conversions for a £300+ product, or does it just take a long time to get signal?
- Is it better to stick with single product creatives at this stage, or should I already be thinking in terms of styles/categories since people don’t usually impulse-buy rugs?
- At what point would you say “this isn’t working” vs just needing more data?
- Also, should I even be optimizing for purchases at this stage, or switch to something like add to cart until I get more data?
It feels like I’m getting decent traffic, but I don’t yet know if the funnel actually converts.
Would really appreciate input from anyone who’s worked on high-ticket ecom or similar setups.
Thanks 🙏
